Reflexology is a very gentle complementary therapy and can be used safely throughout pregnancy. It can be really beneficial in supporting expectant mothers along their maternity journey, helping to make the whole pregnancy experience more comfortable and enjoyable.
It is a profoundly relaxing treatment during pregnancy and helps to prevent or alleviate discomfort arising from hormonal and physiological imbalance. Reflexology is also of great support postnatally where it can help the body recover more quickly post birth, help with energy levels and encourage milk production.
We will discuss full medical history before your first treatment and review prior to each follow up appointment to monitor any health changes.
It is usually recommended to begin with one treatment per month, increasing this to fortnightly or weekly as you near your due date to help prepare the body for birth. This is of course purely down to your personal preference.
